Sweetest Face Contest - Winners!

So many votes were cast in this contest. I am so impressed by the outpouring of support that most of you had for your images!! The results were sooo close! The photo with the most fan votes is:

But because the contest was so close I'm going to offer a 20% discount to the runner up photo here:


Even harder was the contest for the professional photographer image. I loved each and every one of them for different reasons. Some for sharpness, processing or composition, but the contest was for the sweetest face.

As a mother, hands down if this were my little girl and I paid a photographer to capture her sweetness I would be thrilled to have this as an end result to hang on my wall - to capture that sweetness of her age for all time. Mission accomplished here.

Thank you to each and every one of you who entered an image. I hope to host more of these types of contests for professional photographers. I think it is very helpful to have work critiqued and I hope to bring in other photographers to help judge photos for different types of contests in the future so stay tuned!

Sweetest Face Contest - Begins!

Thank you to everyone who sent in a photo for the contest. I received so many sweet photos from you all!

The voting begins tonight. Feel free to share your image with your own friends, fans, family to vote on your image. The one thing I ask is that the votes come from fans of my page. So, have them "Like" Five Eleven Photography before they like the image. The image that receives the most fan votes will win the contest. There will be a second portion to this contest after the initial fan voting is done. I will vote on the professional photographer entry that I feel is the Sweetest Face.

So, start spreading the word! You will receive a $30 gift certificate to my boutique, Cherished Times Boutique, as the winner to this contest and a second $30 gift certificate will be given to the professional photographer entry that wins. Contest runs Sunday January 29th until Sunday evening February 5th (Superbowl Sunday!!!).

Sweetest Face Contest Details

Do you have a photo that stands out to you? One that just pulls at your heartstrings when you look at it? It could be a photo of your child, someone's child, your husband, an elderly grandfather, a friend, etc. If you do, you should enter that image into the Sweetest Face Contest! I'm looking for sweet faces: new, young, old what ever image you have that makes you smile.

The contest is open to anyone! Near or far. You do not have to be a professional photographer to enter. This is just a contest that will showcase lots of sweetness with Valentine's Day around the corner.

Here are the details:

Submit your entries by: Saturday - January 28th, 2012 (email them to wendy@511photography.com)
Contest will run: Sunday - January 29th, 2012 until February 5th, 2012

**Two winners will be chosen.

Fans will vote on their favorite image. The image with the most votes will win $30 to my boutique, Cherished Times Boutique.

I will choose a second winner out of the professional photographers that submitted entries. I think it will be a great way for them to receive some extra recognition for the work that goes into creating a piece of art - not just in capturing the image, but also in the editing process. The professional photographer winner will win $30 to my boutique as well. The professional photographer does have the chance to win twice if the fans vote on their image and I do as well.

So, get your entries in and be prepared for LOTS and LOTS of sweetness coming your way soon! I Heart Faces - Family Fun!

This is something we have a lot of in this family! One of my all time favorite shots of my husband swinging my, then 3 year old, daughter on a beach vacation to the Outer Banks two years ago. It was also the only year she tolerated being at the beach. Now, she is petrified of the waves!! Haha!

Donated!

My five year old daughter has such a big heart. She decided that for Christmas she was finally going to donate her gorgeous hair. We had talked about it for months because she mentioned she wanted to cut her hair and so I talked to her about how nice it would be to donate it. She was all for it. So, we took the plunge a few days before Christmas and though I was sad to see the 9 inches of hair go, she is just as adorable now as she was with long hair. I decided I wanted to really capture her look as natural as possible (she is always seen wearing a bow or headband) before and after. I love all of these shots of her!

I also thought I would submit one of these for the I Heart Photo Challenge! I just love the black and white before photo of her!

Editing Contest Winner!

Editing Contest!

I received quite a few entries for this contest and love so many of them!

The way the contest will work is once the photos go up on my fan page you will then be able to vote ("like") your favorite Straight Out of Camera shot vs. Edit. This is strictly a fan-based contest where the photo with the most "Likes" will win. To increase your chances of winning you may share your photo with your friends/fans/family and ask them to "Like" Five Eleven Photography and then "Like" your photo.

The contest will run from today, Monday the 5th until Sunday the 11th of December. The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to my boutique, Cherished Times Boutique. Unfortunately due to my high demand, items used for the gift certificate cannot be redeemed until after the New Year.

The one I've included in this post is one of my favorite images of all time... I absolutely love the vintage feel of the edit that pairs so nicely with the swim suit and swim cap!
